About Elite Performance Therapeutic Massage

My name is Amy Schlieve, certified equine and canine massage therapist and owner of Elite Performance Therapeutic Massage. I graduated from Equissage located in Virginia with a certification in canine and equine massage therapy in 2017 and then I opened Elite Performance Therapeutic Massage in January of 2018. Since my certification, I have massaged competition horses and other horse athletes as well as working and show dogs.
I am a huge animal lover, and have owned horses and dogs my entire life. In my youth, I was involved heavily in 4-H where I trained and showed many different dogs in agility, obedience and showmanship. I have cared for dogs that have lived to old age, adopted and rehabilitated a severely abused and neglected dog from a puppy mill, and nursed a dog through two rounds of chemotherapy.
As a competitive dressage rider for nearly 20 years, I know first-hand the physical and emotional toll horses go through throughout their training. I have earned a bronze medal from United States Dressage Federation in 2016.
I feel a deep spiritual connection every time I massage an animal. For me, watching a horse or dog positively respond to healing touch is the most rewarding feeling, and being an equine and canine massage therapist is the most fulfilling career I ever had. The power of massage offers healing from the physical strains of time and injury, and also provides healing for emotional scars for animals just as it does for humans.
I have the greatest job ever because I am able to combine my love and passion for animals with my love and passion for healing. It will be an honor to treat your pet and offer healing touch so they can continue to be strong, healthy, and in your life for years to come. Please contact me with any questions, I look forward to connecting with you soon!

My name is Nathan Schlieve, a licensed massage therapist and a certified equine massage therapist. I graduated from Globe University in 2011 with a degree in massage therapy and in 2019 I completed my equine massage certification from Equissage, based out of Virginia. I am co-owner of Elite Performance Therapeutic Massage with my wife Amy Schlieve, and I specialize in working with both equine and human athletes.
Being the husband of a competitive dressage rider, I know the strain that an equine athlete goes through in preparation for a competition. They get sore muscles, sprains, and strains from training and competing and as it is necessary for humans to maintain their body for competition, it is just as important to keep your horse in top physical condition as well. Through my experience in sports massage and being an active part of my wife’s dressage training the past twenty years, I have combined my knowledge into an effective treatment for your horse.
I have also treated many people in my 9 years as a massage therapist and I understand first-hand how massage is an important and even necessary part of athletic training. My clients have ranged from marathon runners, horse riders, bicyclists, tennis players and tri-athletes- just to name a few . I am here to offer support on your fitness journey, help reduce the demands of your sport, increase your performance, and enhance and shorten your recovery time. I look forward to meeting and working with you soon!
With our hands on approach, our understanding of the horse’s body, and our extensive experience, we create treatment plans that offer preventive care, reduce risk of injury, and keep your equine athlete in top shape for training and competitions. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
